Ammar Popular Film Festival announces titles to compete

Secretariat of the 8th edition of the Ammar Popular Film Festival has announced the titles to compete at the event.

The announced titles are in different sections, including Television Programs, Video Clip, Our Film, Film Poster, Advertising, Radio Productions, Cinema Criticism and Articles, as well as Film Script.

The secretariat stated the winners will be named on the opening day of the Iranian event.

The Video Clip section has 43 titles, the Internet and Television Programs section has 18 titles, the Our Film section has 22 titles, the Film Poster section has 24 works, the Teaser section has 20 titles, the Advertising section has 10 works, the Cinema Criticism and Articles section has 11 works, the Radio Productions section has 32 items, and the Film Script section has 26 titles.

The selected titles for the other sections will be released in the coming week.

The Ammar Popular Film Festival goes against promotion of “individualism and extreme enjoyment without caring about the society's troubles and other human suppression,” the event’s official website noted.

The festival also enjoys an international version (AIPFF) which aims “to raise real awareness and responsibility among the general public,” the AIPFF website read, adding the event’s mission is to create an atmosphere in which independent filmmakers and thinkers can gather together.

The 8th edition of the festival is scheduled to be held from December 27, 2017, to January 5, 2018, in Tehran.
